Sir Owlfred

This piece represents Sir Owlfred, a prominent golden owl that takes pride of place above the entrance to Barmby Moor House, York and the Hooting Owl Distillery Logo.

He tells the story about Dominic M’Benga’s extraordinary discovery in the property.  Barmby Moor was once a famous public house and coaching inn. During the refurbishment for the Hooting Owl Distillery, Dom discovered a concealed floor safe. Within the safe was a single bottle of Sir Owlfred’s Hooting Owl Signature Gin and an old secret recipe book.  Inspired by this find, Dom set out on a journey throughout Yorkshire to recreate his high-quality artisan spirits.
