The Story
The Stray tells the story of an individual who embodies intelligence, cunning, and independence, a metaphor for living life on one's own terms. With determination, imagination, and passion. They surpassed societal expectations to become a leading professional and found the true meaning of success in life: love, kindness and laughter.
This person has helped me to grow my confidence and supported me in my new career. I wanted to create a personalised piece as a thank you, so when I learnt they were a fan of David Hockey, it was only natural that the piece would reflect elements of his work. A young student Hockney who was hitch hiking south bestowed upon his helpers a ceramic cat as a gesture of his gratitude for their kindness.
